Why the watermark isn’t there
When you tap Save video inside TikTok, the app makes a fresh copy and burns its logo and your @handle into the picture, plus a short end card. That copy is made for sharing back to other apps, so TikTok gets the credit.
The video TikTok actually plays in its feed is different. It has no stamp on it. SnapTikTok fetches that playback file, the same one the TikTok app streams, so there’s nothing to remove. No blur, no cropping, no AI “watermark remover” smudging the corner.
HD vs. normal: which one?
Start with Download HD. It’s the sharpest copy TikTok stored for that video. If the creator uploaded in 1080p, that’s what you get, and we print the real resolution next to the preview before you tap.
The catch is the codec. HD files are almost always H.265, which phones and Macs play without trouble. Some Windows PCs, older Android TV boxes and a few editing apps don’t. For those, the plain Download button gives an H.264 file that plays literally everywhere. It’s usually 720p or 576p.
One more thing: don’t judge by megabytes. H.265 is about twice as efficient as H.264, so the HD file can be the smaller of the two and still look better.
Links SnapTikTok understands
https://www.tiktok.com/@user/video/7...(full link from a browser)https://vm.tiktok.com/...andhttps://vt.tiktok.com/...(short links from the app)https://www.tiktok.com/t/...(newer short format)- The whole share message, like “lol https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMx…”. We pull the link out ourselves.
Photo carousels work too. Paste one and you’ll get the images instead of video buttons; the TikTok slideshow downloader explains the details. For sound only, use TikTok to MP3.
On phone or desktop
There’s no app to install. On Android, files land in Download and show up in your gallery. On iPhone, Safari puts them in Files › Downloads. On PC or Mac, they’re in your Downloads folder. If you’d rather have an app on Android, our own HDTik does the same job; the link shows under the download buttons.
Use it fairly
Downloading your own TikToks, or saving a clip to watch offline, is what this is for. Re-uploading someone else’s video as your own isn’t. If you repost, ask first and tag the creator.
